On the first day back to school, someone murdered the boring history teacher. There were four suspects at the school at the time the police determined when the murder happened: the school landscaper, a math teacher, the basketball coach and the school principal. These were the alibis that were provided: the landscaper said he was outside trimming the tree branches; the math teacher said he was giving a mid-year test; the basketball coach said he was with his players running practice drills; and the principal said she was in her office working on paperwork. After each person gave their alibis, the police arrested the killer immediately. Who killed the boring history teacher and how did the police know?
