Jake is stranded on an island that is covered in forest. On Wednesday when the wind was blowing from the West, lightning struck the West end of the island and set fire to the forest. The fire was fierce and was burning everything in its path.
Without stepping in, the fire would burn the whole island and Jake will die in the process as well. There are cliffs around the island so Jake cannot jump off.
How can Jake survive the fire without any buckets or means to put out the fire?

Answer
Using a piece of wood, Jake lights it from the fire on the West end of the island. He would then run to the East end of the island and start a new fire. The wind will cause the fire to burn out the Eastern end and then he can seek shelter in the burnt area.
