Mr. Smith was found dead in his living room by Mr. Ball Mr. Ball contacted the police to let them know about Mr. Smith. This is what he told them;
“I was walking by Mr. Smith’s house when I decided to stop for a visit. I notice that the light in living room was on and I decided to peek in from the outside to see if he was there. I walked through the front snow-covered lawn towards the window and I had to wipe the condensation off the window to see inside. That is when I saw Mr. Smith’s body. I kicked in the front door to get into the house and called the police immediately.”
The police listened to Mr. Ball and immediately arrested him for the murder of Mr. Smith.

Condensation forms on the inside of a window in the winter, not the outside and therefore Mr. Ball could not have wiped it off to discover Mr. Smith’s body.
